Former PSG Manager Leaves After 11 Months
London, May 21, 2024 - Chelsea Football Club has announced the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino by mutual consent after less than 11 months in charge.
Pochettino, who previously led Paris Saint-Germain to the French Ligue 1 title in 2023, joined Chelsea in June 2023 after the club parted ways with former manager Graham Potter.
The Argentine coach failed to replicate his success at Chelsea, as the Blues finished sixth in the Premier League and were eliminated in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League under his leadership.
Chelsea released a statement thanking Pochettino for his contributions to the club and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
"The club would like to thank Mauricio for his efforts during his time at Chelsea," the statement read. "We wish him all the best in the future."
Pochettino's departure leaves Chelsea searching for a new manager ahead of the upcoming season.
