GameStop Stock Split History

Overview

GameStop (GME) has undergone two stock splits since its initial public offering (IPO) in 2002. These splits have increased the number of shares outstanding and lowered the share price, making the stock more accessible to a wider range of investors.

First Stock Split

The first stock split occurred on March 19, 2007, with a ratio of 2-for-1. This means that for every one share of GME stock held on the record date, shareholders received an additional share. As a result, the number of shares outstanding doubled from 12.5 million to 25 million.

Second Stock Split

The second stock split occurred on July 26, 2022, with a ratio of 4-for-1. This means that for every one share of GME stock held on the record date, shareholders received three additional shares. As a result, the number of shares outstanding increased by a factor of four from 76.3 million to 305.2 million.
